Spirit was found in very poor condition wandering the streets in Lancaster, PA.  She was extremely underweight, with skin problems and she is missing her back left foot.  We took her to the vet immediately for FIV/FeLV testing, shots, flea/worm treatment, her spay surgery and medications.  Spirit gained weight quickly and she was neg for both Feline Aids and Leukemia.  She does use her back leg for balance and it does not need removed.  Her ongoing medical issue is over-grooming due to stress and anxiety.  She makes her fur thin due to excessive licking.  We feel that in the right home this will subside.  She is extremely affectionate with people and would make a great companion for an older person or a quiet household.  She can only be adopted to Lancaster County residents.  She is Ok with other cats but prefers ones that leave her alone.  Older children in the home would also be Ok.  No small children because Spirit needs to be handled gently.  If there is room in your home and heart for this sweet girl, please contact Kitty Colony.  You can apply or contact us via our e-mail, kittycolony@hotmail.com.  Her adoption donation is $75.00.
